Mission
Scaling heights and
cascading down to discover one's inner strength by befriending
the environment
Experience
Ashvin
has been in the adventure zone for the past fifteen years. It all
started when he first attended a camp at Pirotan Island at the
age of nine. He has come a long way since then, from attending
marine camps, nature & adventure camps to organizing his own
adventure tours and camps. He co-coordinated and organized his first
camp in 1989. This little step was the stepping-stone for his career
as an adventure enthusiast. Since then he has coordinated more than
350 camps & adventure trips in India as well as abroad.
Luv
Kumar Khachar has been Ashwin's inspiration throughout. He is someone
Aswin holds in great esteem and proudly calls his mentor. Ashwin
also owes a lot to Mr. Kiran Patel and The Galaxy Education System
(“TGES”) for trusting him and believing in his ability to
lead the school through numerous treks and hikes. All Ashwin needed
was a platform and that is precisely what TGES gave him.
He has
a keen interest in trekking, skiing, white-water rafting, water skiing,
surfing, paragliding, mountaineering and going on expeditions. His
experience set out above helps him immensely in his profession as
an organizer of adventure trips.
He has lead expeditions to Kailash
Mansarovar in China; he has taken educational and adventure trips
to Egypt, Europe and the Middle East. He describes Kailash Mansarovar
trek as the most challenging and interesting.
He has been taking
groups to various parts of the Eastern & Western
Himalayas for the past 12 years and claims that there is still something
new to discover each time he goes there. Groups of adventure enthusiasts
are taken to the Bhrigu peak every year. Ashwin trains them in basic
mountaineering skills prior to scaling the Bhrigu.
This year (2004) Aswin
completed his 81 st successful climb to the Bhrigu. Aswin respects
the mountains and feels that humans are very miniscule in front of
Mother Nature. His belief is strengthened by the fact that he was
once stuck at Khandpari Tibba along with seven other people for an
entire night. The courage and their belief in the mountains helped
them get through that ordeal. He describes it as a near death experience
where it was freezing cold and the eight men huddled together to
stay warm, waiting for morning to arrive. This experience has left
a deep impact on him. He has started respecting the mountains more
and keeps on going back to them.
